Fall From Grace

After graduating from the RCA in July 2010, Bowler’s collection was instantly photographed by Nick Knight to appear in AnOtherman Magazine, she was featured in Dazed Digital ‘Rise’ for emerging designers and in a ‘Guardian online’ film for hotly tipped young graduate talents.

Bowler is known for her innovative approach to design. Her collections highlight her passion to transform inexpensive and mundane materials using unique processes. Hand dyed plastics and innovative heat forming techniques make way for a unique approach to fashion design.

Her Spring/Summer collection has derived from the mythological story of Icarus. The collection is a progression of pieces cataloguing a journey from the birth of an evolving idea through to a dramatic crescendo and an untimely fall from grace.

Once again the materials, texture and colour are a key part of the uniqueness of her work. Plastic and latex are transformed into luxurious and sophisticated garments with a substantial infusion of fun. A wealth of textures is displayed; from soft hand knitted cropped jumpers to plastic plumed jackets, glossy melting drapes and smooth body hugging latex, which sprouts Bowler’s signature fringing from its seams.

The result is a collection for women that encapsulates sophistication, style, luxury and fun.
